As much as I love taking photos of the countless blue and turquoise doors and windows in northern New Mexico, I've yet to find anything that compared to what I saw in Valparaiso, Chile.
Valparaiso is the most colorful city I've ever seen. Every door, window, fence post, every rock in the low walls around the city are painted in vivid bright colors. And in a city where everything is brightly-colored, the artists' section up on Cerros Alegre and Concepcion was an artwork unto itself. I was captivated by every door I saw.
Each one was brighter and more fanciful than the next.
Though not necessarily the best-looking door photo I've ever taken, I couldn't resist with this tiny gray kitten sitting so bravely on the stoop.
There were all sorts of animals to be found in the doorways of Valparaiso.

Those are some very pretty doors! The people living there are probably very creative and artistic. It looks like that custom is very much ingrained in the local culture. That would bode well for local tourism!

The graffiti door designs are very artistic and creative. People will really feel like they're always welcome if they come across a house that has one of those colorful doors. =)

Aah, a little graffiti as well, or tagging as they say in L.A.

Love the doors. Makes me want to go out and paint my doors. Is the animal in the last picture an alpaca, vicuna, llama, or what? Thanks for sharing.
